SAN LUCAS Restaurant-Bar & Tienda Welcome to SAN LUCAS, the cozy Mexican seafood restaurant in the heart of Puerto Vallarta's Romantic Zone. Alberto (Don Beto) Cortes with his wife Maria Elena have been operating this enchanting, informal eatery on the second floor of the corner of Insurgentes and Lazaro Cardenas streets (in front of Farmacia Guadalajara) for well over 15 years. The success of the restaurant is based on very fresh seafood purchased daily by Don Beto and personally preparing or overseeing the appropriate cooking temperatures and seasoning of all foods in the old fashioned, classical Mexican tradition. Fresh fish is always cooked right, shrimp is done to perfection and when the oysters are in, they really were brought in that day by the fishermen. With the exception of a recently added Shrimp Burger (Hamburguesa de camaron), which some of our guests have asked for, not much has changed on the menu; on the other hand, this is what brings our loyal, long time customers back to see us, and here is the latest version of it: The street level entrance to the restaurant has recently been renovated and is now an air-conditioned liquor store, offering organic tequilas, raicillas, fine wines and spirits, plus premium cigars, organic vanilla, agave honey (syrup), 'vallarta-my-love' salsas and more food & beverage related articles to come. Alberto's idea to have a store (la Tienda) at the restaurant entrance in order to give his customers an opportunity to shop for Mexican quality food & beverage goods, was supported by his old friend Werner Zullig, who assisted with the design and opening of the facility.
